Short answer: no. Nothing in the directions we publish for Hard Steel honey packs says to take them with alcohol. Our product pages actually say the opposite: "Alcohol may amplify or dull the effects and is not recommended alongside any enhancement product."
This question gets searched a lot, so here's what we know and what we don't.
Where does the "with alcohol" idea come from?
It mostly spreads by word of mouth and in forums. People mix up "take it on a night out" with "take it with a drink." Neither the Hard Steel label directions nor our product pages tell you to combine the honey with alcohol.
What do the directions say?
From our Hard Steel Purple Honey product page (always follow the label on your own pack, since formulas and directions can differ by edition):
- Squeeze the whole stick into your mouth, chew, and swallow.
- Allow 30–60 minutes.
- Do not exceed one stick in 24 hours.
Other editions (Green Stripe, Black, Gold Plus) come in the same single-sachet format. Check each label for its own directions.
Why mixing with alcohol isn't recommended
- Unpredictable interaction. Alcohol affects blood pressure, judgment and how your body processes what you take. We can't tell you how it will interact with any particular honey pack, so we recommend not combining them.
- Hidden-ingredient risk in this category. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned about many honey-based "enhancement" products that tested positive for undeclared prescription drug ingredients such as sildenafil and tadalafil (the active ingredients in Viagra and Cialis). According to the FDA, those ingredients can interact with nitrates and lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Alcohol can lower blood pressure too. Talk to a doctor first if…
- You take any prescription medication, especially nitrates (e.g. nitroglycerin) or blood-pressure medicine
- You have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol
- You're allergic to bee products (honey, royal jelly, pollen)

Will it "not work" without alcohol? The directions don't call for alcohol. We don't make claims about results, because individual experiences vary.
Can I take a second stick if I've been drinking? No. Follow the label limit of one stick in 24 hours, and don't combine with alcohol.
